Investigating the effect of religious adherence on the social participation of border residents (case of study: western border regions of Kurdistan province)

Abstract
The aim of the present study is to examine "four dimensions of religious adherence to social participation in the western border areas of Kurdistan province". The research with practical goals and with a quantitative method approach and in terms of time is cross-sectional, which was carried out using the survey method and the use of questionnaire tools. The statistical population of the research is the residents of the villages of Saqez, Baneh, Marivan and Sarovabad in the border areas of Kurdistan province. The sample size was calculated using Cochran's formula of 384 people. Sampling was done based on classification. SPSS software was used for data analysis. Data processing and statistical analysis were done using descriptive and inferential statistics (frequency distribution tables, correlation tests, multivariate regression and path analysis). The findings of the research showed that the contribution of religious adherence and the four dimensions of religious adherence to social participation are: religious adherence (0.417), belief dimension 0.298, ritual dimension 0.442, emotional dimension 0.354 and consequence dimension 0.374. Therefore, the set of independent variables are able to explain the changes in the social participation variable and each of the above related dimensions is effective in the amount and level of social participation of the border residents of the mentioned areas.
