Study of Effective Socio- cultural Factors on Saving of Water Consumption among Students of Yasouj University

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the saving of water consumption among university students and its relationship with awareness of the consequences of lack of energy, commitment and cultural capital by survey method. The population is the students of Yasouj University, 350 cases were selected using random multi-stage sampling method. Research instruments for measurement of other variables are researcher-made questionnaire that construct and content validity have been used for determination of the validity and Cronbach Alpha and re-test have been used for measurement of the reliability. Descriptive findings showed that a third of respondents do not save in water consumption. The analytical results showed that there is a significant difference between thrifty people and spendthrift people in awareness toward the consequences of lack of energy, commitment and cultural capital, but only commitment, age and GPA are able to significantly predict saving in water consumption and can explain 26% of the variance. Training of commitment (individual and collective) can increase saving behavior among the university students that is one of the most important needs of the country
