Sociological analysis of the consequences of family role in sports socialization: a qualitative study

Abstract
Considering the role that sociologists attach to the factors of socialization in bringing people to sports and the importance of the family in the process of socialization of people, the purpose of this research is to analyze and sociologically explain the consequences of the role of the family in the socialization of children's sports. The current research method is qualitative with foundation data method and Glazer's approach and is exploratory. The statistical population of the current research was professors and faculty members of the university in the fields of sociology and sports sociology, as well as coaches and international sports players. The sample selection strategy was chosen non-probably, purposefully and with maximum variety. In this research, an open interview was conducted and analyzed based on the stages of the ground theory. All statistical analyzes were performed with the help of Maxqda software version 2020. The findings of the research show that in the results, there are 4 main categories such as increasing the socialization of sports, accepting and implementing sports culture in the family, controlling emotional emotions and achieving a healthy society and 3 subcategories such as strengthening relationships within the family, strengthening support within the family and increasing The level of awareness of the family was identified. As a result, becoming an athlete has requirements that a person must learn in society in addition to physical strength, and also in the process of becoming an athlete, in addition to individual abilities, possibilities and access to opportunities and social acceptance factors such as Family and community conditions are also involved.
