In this article, from a non-modern point of view, one of the classic modern theories in the field of sociology is examined in order to test the strength of this newly matured perspective against the valid theories of sociology. For this purpose, Durkheim's theory of social division of labor has been chosen for examination. The method chosen in this article is the transtheoretical examination of a theory. Although different dimensions of a theory can be examined from this point of view, but here to focus more on the comparison between two non-modern, modern and modern perspectives, the issue of social solidarity has been investigated from the perspective of social division of labor. In this article, the issue of social division of labor is first described from two non-modern and modern perspectives, and then it is shown that according to the realities of non-modern man's life, he prefers to benefit from division of labor instead of division of labor. Finally, it will be seen that even in the life of modern man, the division of labor does not leave more than social dependence, and in order to achieve social solidarity, modern man needs to make fundamental changes in his collective way of life.
