This research investigated relationship between the amount and type of presence in cyberspace and place attachment among high-consumption and low-consumption users consisting of high school students in east of Tehran. This research is based on a survey and its measurement tool is questionnaire. The statistical population of this study includes all male and female students in the first and second cycles of high school in Tehran (fee-paying/ state-aided) in the academic year 2016-2017 which is equal to 8750 subjects. In this research, the samples were selected randomly using Cochran's formula. Accordingly, 384 subjects were selected for this research. It is concluded that the presence in cyberspace has a profound impact on different aspects of identity and, consequently, on the lifestyle of Iranian users, especially young people, who constitute the largest audience and activists of this space, either with professional or entertainment motives, especially in the Third World metropolitan cities. In fact, Iranian users gradually undergo a wide range of changes with regard to the objective and mental structures in their real world and according to the type and extent of Internet usage and these changes affect the place attachment of the Internet and cyberspace users.
